High Intensity Discharge is the latest technology in automotive lighting. It has become and increasingly familiar term in the automotive industry. Commonly seen equipped as original factory equipment on many of today's high-end automobiles, HID headlights are also very popular as an aftermarket upgrade for any car.

HID headlights provide the brightest illumination available: 3 times the amount of light output when compared to standard halogen bulbs. The increased light output is designed to illuminate a wider area in front of the vehicle, improving visibility and safety, without disturbing the vision of oncoming drivers. HID lamps also have a much longer service life because there is no filament inside the bulb. This system is very durable, with a lamp life rating of 3,000 hours.

The H.I.D. system is available for H1, H3, H4, H7, H8, H9, H10, H11, H13, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007,
D1S, D1R, D1C, D2S, D2R, D2C bulb applications.  

H4 is also referenced to as a 9003 or an HB2. 
9004 bulb is also referenced to as a HB1. 
9005 bulb is also referenced to as a HB3. 
9006 bulb is also referenced to as a HB4. 
9007 bulb is also referenced to as a HB5. 
H.I.D. bulbs are referenced to as 9500, D2R, D2S
